PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Yes, but he'll be an awkward turtle. He's pretty good at giving out sudden headpats, though.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Absolutely yes! He knows a mix of martial arts and swordsmanship to hold himself off in fights.
RELATIONSHIPS: Yes! Open to all kinds! Van can be a tough cookie to crack, but he's a softie deep down. Some examples of relationships that he can click with are bright and cheerful people who contrast with his grumpy and broody nature, but can see that he's not a bad guy underneath it all. Other types are teasing or bratty people who can get under his skin and get into competitive banter and antics with. Anyone who doesn't get eternally offended at his sarcastic and standoffish demeanor or the morally grey nature of his job and how he handles his work are good!
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: No mental blocks here! If he becomes Grendel (his superpowered monster form), then you'll probably just get static noises. Kuro spoilers: And in his Demon Lord form, you might just get louder static as he's become a being beyond mortal comprehension.
MAGICAL INFORMATION: Normal human on the surface! Kuro spoilers: If they dig deeper, they might sense his Devil Core which is a big wad of darkness coming from his demonic side. Van also has an unusually sharp sense of smell where he can pick up on "fishy scents" and know when something or someone comes off as suspicious (whenever plot demands). It's compared to how swordsmen in Trails can pick up on other people's presences, sense ki or read minds with the "Unclouded Eye".
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Fit as a fittle! Though it's implied that he heals from non life-threatening wounds unusually quick.

DEMEANOUR: Van likes to portray himself as a sarcastic, cool and no-sense back-alley solver, but he's actually a laid-back dork who's a huge manchild for cars, sweets and saunas. Absolutely not cool at all. His passion for cars, sweets and saunas is often played up for comedy and to show a gap between his serious portrayal and his more laid-back and goofy side. In story, people tend to take advantage of this to show how easy it can be to manipulate Van for their own ends (much to his chargin) or they just find him weird and/or annoying whenever he gets into his big food/car/sauna rants.
Despite his shady and brusque demeanor, he tries not to be insincere and reaches out to understand (and help) people in his own roundabout way and does his best to look out for them - Either from a distance or through being more direct. This roundabout way is known as the "Spriggan Way" (from his PoV) where he can approach situations and people through by being Lawful (friendly, lecturing and well-meaning citizen), Chaotic (cold, pragmatic and hard-boiled jerk with a heart with gold) or Grey (a mix of both) with his various solutions to reflect that.
Since he has no hard alignment to any side and likes to handle problems in his own flexible style, Van calls his way of doing things as "blueish-black" basically meaning that he's willing to accept morally grey requests within reason and do borderline criminal acts in order to solve people's problems and make the world a happier place. His fixer job also means that he could be your ally today or your enemy tomorrow, but he does his best not to hold grudges and likes to keep things neutral and professional unless someone truly tests his firm morals. (He won't work with sociopaths who have a lack of humanity and disregard for human life for example or he'll hold a petty comedic grudge if you've murdered his precious pick-up truck)
tl;dr - Van is a friendly neighborhood fixer who acts as a bridge between the bright overworld and dark underworld. His shady underworld work and traumatic past experiences has given him a bit of jaded outlook on life and he prefers to keep people at shoulder's length, but he's a kind and hard-working person who likes to pay off his debts and keep people within his debts due to issues in his past.
He also has a sassy little assistant known as the Holo AI called "Mare" who comes in the form of a fairy. She's here to assist Van with his Grendel transformations, give lore exposition or be a source of comedy for threads!

NOTE: I'm all caught up with Kuro/Daybreak 1 and Kuro/Daybreak 2, so there may be spoilers for both games. Please let me know if you'd like to avoid spoilers entirely or don't want to thread with Van at all. I have also completed the Sky Trilogy, Zero, Azure, Cold Steel 1-4 and Reverie!

- This Alignment system also reflects on who Van chooses to team up with in Chapter 5. I go with Arkride Solutions cooperating with Ikaruga (Shizuna + Kurogane) since we learn more about Shizuna and it adds more to her camaraderie with the group in Kuro 2. And the Alignment system points to you needing to max out Grey and Chaos values in order to unlock them.
